Doc Rings: you don't know much about deceleration forces. A 70 mph crash into a barrier (crash time of less than 1 second) would impact over 32g-forces. That means that your body would feel a force of 32 times it's weight as it slams to a stop. While the cabin is intact, your insides would look like they went through a blender. I'd drive a car with crush zones before I'd even sit in a "smart"car.

smart driver must not be too smart because he/she would be in the hospital with a broken back. The Mercedes driver might have spilled his coffee on himself.

The Top Gear folks crashed a Smart into a concrete barricade at 70mph and besides some intrusion into the leg compartment (like most cars do), it was deemed survivable. Probably much better than other compact cars in it's class.. I'd take a Smart over a hyundai or kia.

they are dumb cars, I have heard that in order for a person to change the oil in them you have to drop the engine..they want you to have to pay to take it to a dealership of course, it is all about control folks. Our govenerment wants to control everything. Oh by the way most people figure "to hell with my freedom, I just want security". Our Founding Fathers will puke because ifthey were alive

Don't worry. Obamma's going to have us all driving these anyway. That is the half of the Americans that have jobs anyway. Crash two of the smart cars together. That'll tell us something.

Seriously, can anybody tell me what denise means? Is it me or did that (like most of his posts) not make any sense? Well at least he didn't misspell anything. There's a first time for everything I suppose.

I was gonna get 1, to use instead of a bike, but they're too weak..I thought the Brabus edition would be faster, but not really..there are ones called "Diablo", supossebly as fast as a Ferrari.

Smart cars suck. If I hit that with my Ford Excursion it would be like hitting a speed bump.

The only problem is because it is so light, it flies upwards wildly wich may cause some problems for the driver, but the cabine pretty much survived the crash.
