No, it is NOT done with a piano. It is run through a voice-midi-synthesizer. It converts your voice to a digital signal, and you can manipulate it with the Midi device. It's pretty sweet studio gear. You can pick up a cheap version of the software, or buy a "groove-box".(which doesn't make it as nice as this..but still good) for around 4-700 dollars.
