I LOVE MY COUNTRY,ITS THE GOVERNMENT I'M AFRAID OF!

I was in the army for 8 years, did 2 tours in nam, was a cop for 5 years in Atlanta,GA., have black belt. I was always taught to "PROTECT MYSELF FIRST" The cop took the guy DOWN-no questions asked. If you give him a body shot, he may not go down. And it shows the other protesters that you mean business! DON'T F**K WITH ME, DO AS I SAY!

Looking at the tape (I am a cop too), the officer was wrong for going for the subjects head, hitting for someone's head is ONLY allowed when a situation has elevated to Deadly force. HOWEVER, the subject did get into the officer's face and make a threatening gesture. All we need is for it to appear as though he is threatening us in order to act, and the subject was aggresive and antagonizing the officer. I, personally, would have done the same thing, but NOT hit the subject in the head.

That looked bad but think about it, We ask and expect them to keep order. Cops can never guess or assume whats anybody is going to do. We train then to act first. Good Job Copper. Keep up the good work.

Obiviously the protest was over..cops were trying to clear the area..one guy did not comply and got KO'd..the cop should hit him in the torso of a few cops should have taken him down..but the cops are out numbered and scared..Pinjas..looks like U might understand my Great Cause, we should talk..I wan't to see what happenes w/ Obama, but it is the perfect time for a New World Order..the economy is afecting the whole world..all because of capatilist greed.

Let me ask you folks, how would you control an "out of control" crowd? I'd love to see some of you out there trying to keep the peace. If you're a cop, out numbered 50 to 1, at some point, you may have to use more than a baton.

In a situation where a subject takes a stance against an officer I think the officer should do anything to protect himself. The guy clearly grabbed at the officer then when the oficer turned to face him he bucked up like he wanted to fight the officer. Yes his arms were down what if the officer did nothing then the guy swung and knocked the officer out,who would you rather have left standing the crazy protestor or the officer trying to restore peace.

piss on the cop! If I was breaking up something like that and hit someone like that, I be in jail right now. I don't care what happened. That cop had no right to do that to an unarmed man that did nothing more that say something that the cop did not like. Above the law or what!!

well thats kind of the point of this country.. that you can be free and have free speech.. OH, unless you are talking to a cop.. then have to stand there like slave and say yesir and nosir. This guy had a right to be there and to protest as long as he was NOT violent.

I agree with you, the guy may not have been trying to fight the cop but he sure was provoking the officer, It was messed up what happened but with all that chaos going on around them why throw wood on the fire, by stepping in the face of a cop that has a baton in his hands?

Who's up for a revolution? Clear out the whole system and start fresh with new laws and rules. Yes please!
