car was shootin juice, hit rev limiter, shot a rod or threw a cam, oil fire, my best guess to as in what happened atleast, sweet vid tho

Ouch. Sucks for them. Wonder how. My theory(or a couple of theorys) is that either the engine threw a rod and it punctured the oil tank, or that, um, I forgot the other one.

I don't know about the oil igniting, but I would agree with over-revving. This is a forced induction car, you can hear it. To make that much power, it certainly had a modified fuel delivery system and it looks like that failed. If you look closely at the drivers front wheel well right before it catches fire there is a mist that shoots out, either a gasoline leak, or visible compressed air from the turbo. I would say it's gas due to the amount of flames. Thats my guess.

I have owned a few race cars over the last 40 years and can tell you with almost total certanty that this care expired (blew up) caused by exceeding its rev limit. The fire came as a result of the engine oil actually reaching a temperature high enough to ignite. Also, helped of course by the fact that there wouldn't be much left of the engine block, pistons, valves and anything else that is desgined to move slower than it was forced to

im not sure that that means its powerful i think it just means its a crappy car that cant take the pressure
