Optical Camouflage - Free Video Clips

All I can say about this video is that I have no idea how this guy does it! All I can think is that it must be a camera trick. Anyone have any info about this one?

it's actually a key greenscreen affect and it is done through digital video software. you start by filming a scene without a subject. then the same seen with a subject. you key out whatever is green for instance the ball and all your left with is whole through the first piece of video on to the next. does that make sense?

Simploe...blue screen. He is standing in front of a blue screen, and the objects that he is holding and the coat are the right material, so that the image is projected onto them.

Easy. There is an image projected onto the surface in the exact locations that the objects are, therefore giving an illusion of invisibility

its possible to put 2 pictures and make one, so, I imagine that thats what the guy did, took a picture of the background and the filmed himself, then he just made the sphere and the other thing into like a hole in the picture so that it showed the original background sorry if what I said wasent clear, but its hard to explain

it's probably just a lot of tiny mirrors put on the suit and the ball and the brick.

evan are you serious!! if it was a lot of little mirrors all over it, then it wouldnt make one big picture. it would make a thing like a mosaic. nope definitely green screening. or blue if you want to call it that. or red.

You guys are really outdated. This was nominated the best innovations back in 2003 by TIME. http://edition.cnn.com/2003/TECH/02/07/japan.invisible.ap/

louie your website link failed. it says "The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it." so who's outdated now??????

This is a simple trick. The background isn't really there...He's standing in front of a green screen, like a weather man does, and the object he holds up is green as well, so anytime it's in front of him, it shows the picture that is added on afterwards.

this is such a camera trick ive seen this befor

buzzkillMar 21, 2007 2:23 PM
It is a camera trick. You can do similar effects in Adobe Premier using alpha channels. Its the same effect they used in "Predator" to make the predator invisible. Nothing special, just a cool effect.

joooooeeeellllllllllMar 21, 2007 7:07 PM
OMG its not a camera trick when your putting effects on in premiere elemnts... thats an EDITING TRICK. not a camera trick. duh.

LouieMar 22, 2007 12:25 AM
OK, joooooeeeellllllllll. CNN has deleted the article since it's really old. Here's the original article from TIME. http://www.time.com/time/2003/inventions/invinvisible.html It said the product will be launched around 2008
