seriously people, while some of you may find this amusing, if you've ever been bit by a horse even just playfully, it can leave a large bruise. The fact this horse all but chomped down on her could have caused serious injury. And yes, it's a pony, but that doesn't stop it from being dangerous. Horses, mares and stallions (girls and guys) all assert themselves by nipping/biting. Because a horses skin is much thicker (they're designed to withstand anothers attack, so it doesn't break the skin AS BADLY) what seems like a playful nip to them can leave us with a large bruise. if a horse were to grab onto a humans arm, and purposefully bite down to draw blood, and move their head away, they could strip flesh from bone. Just because they are so powerful. anyway, seriousness over. <33

a pony that may be, but that body language is agressive, not playful-- I can almost see his ears pinned back against his head. I've seen dominant horses "out of the blue" suddenly charge and nip other horses, to assert their dominance. That is the only explanation I can think of, for why he bit her. Most horses probably don't realize that we are much more fragile that way, than they are.

The horse didn't just knock her down, he bit her on the breast. Watch the video in slow motion-- the horse can be seen opening his mouth and then closing on her. Having been bitten myself and known others who have been, I can tell you that her injuries were not a joke-- the crush force a horse can exert with his teeth is tremendous. As to what provoked the horse, I can find no clue in the video. And, as to her inattention, horses, big though they are, are quicker than most people imagine..
