gasoline vapors are flammable. diesel takes direct contact to ignite. all around dumbass.

because gas wont light up as soon as you throw a flame on it if you just threw the gas down what starts the flame and the explosion are the gas fumes because gas would normally be to wet at first..

and that my friends, is the reason why im not a fire fighter..

that right there is the reason fire departments in this area are trained using diesel fuel. diesel fuel burns a black smoke, but doesn't explode on contact with fire. the guy was o.k. as far as fire, because of his nomax hood under the helmet, and all of his "turnout gear" also known as fire gear. The explosion must have given him one heck of a concusion though. I hope he was o.k.

I dont understand, what did he think was going to happen?? Gasoline is very flammible so why does it not do that every time.
