THIS IS A SWITCHING STATION. AS PATHWAYS ARE SWITCHED, THE VOLTAGE IS SUFFICIENT TO IONIZED THE AIR AND ALLOW AN ARC TO FORM. HAPPENS EVERYTIME THE PATH IS CHANGED.
