Contrary to popular misconceptions cat's do die in trees and other high places like utility poles. A fear struck, panicked feline can remain in a tree until it is too dehydrated and weak to return to the ground. Even then , if it does try to return it is then in a weakened state and may fall and injure or kill itself. An inexperienced cat, or a kitten may not know it must climb down backwards and will fall if it attempts to come down forward. Tree workers and utility employees report finding cat skeletons in high places, or near the base of such places after the dead cat falls.

not even gonna watch the video. why would you waste your time on a cat up a tree. it will come down when it feels like it, and then for it to go up another tree..get a dog!

I have never seen or heard of a cat die up in a tree before. When the cat gets hungry enough, it will come down on it's own. I just think this was a wasted effort and costs taxpayer's money.

you know, that happened to me with my daughters kitten.. she did the same thing. she was so scared i guess the only place she felt safe and sheltered was right back in another tree. i left her in that one and she eventually made it down on her own. later that same day.. urgh!!

i don't know why people freak out about cats "stuck" in trees- how many cat skeletons have you ever seen in a tree?

i can't help but wonder how the cat ever got back down that tree..or if he's still there..lol
