You are a idiot. this is STEVE WONG benching, not that *** gene. Gene is white, not a pacific islander. I train with steve and this video of him dropping the bar is not because of his spotters, it is becuase the bar rolled out of his hands. where the hell did you get the idea that he pissed off his spotters before this event. if his spotters really wanted to *** him up, they would have let go on the lift off. the spotters had nothing to do with this.

I have watched many of these events and considering the weight involved I don't think any "spotter" would deliberately take the chance of hurting someone! You might piss someone off, but not to the point that they are going to allow you to possibly get killed or injured. They wouldn't be spotters very long, and I wouldn't want to be them when "pay back" time rolls around! This is a professional sport and has to be conducted as such.

It's not Gene Rychlak, its Steve Wong. It was 832 lbs, done in a meet in Monterey, California. He was absolutely fine, and actually lifted the weight on his next attempt. Gene Rychlaks holds the world record with 1005 lbs.

I would think making your spotters mad before the event wasn't so bright. Talk about crapping in your own nest.
