Greg, they are proving that even if a container storing spent nuclear fuel was involved in a wreck (in this case a train wreck), that the container would remain in 1 peice, keeping all the nuclear material contained. I'm sure a lot of people would rather prove the containers ability this way with nothing of interest inside than to get it out on the road moving nuclear material and then hoping that it works. Sometimes real life crashes are the only way to make the public feel safe. I don't see them computer modeling cars to see how they react in a crash.

Yeah and good thing it didn't crash into a bomb or people would have died that way too.

good thing it was a test and not an accidental crash full of passengers or else there would've been alot of dead and injured people
