Hey Dad. I found a great Christmas tree. Nope, I cut it down already. Yep, it's in the livingroom. Just needs a little trimming!

As long as you didn't cut that tree down, the lawsuit and your homeowners Insurance should be more than enough to rehab. If you are the lumberjack, you are In frikin trouble!!

Actually MagScot, you are supposed to cut a slice out of the side you want the tree towards then cut the other side. If the tree is neutrally balanced, as you cut the back there is no support from the wedge, so the tree tips that direction. However, if there are more branches on one side of the tree, or alot of wind, you actually have to pull or push the tree in the direction you want it to fall. The bigger the tree, the bigger the pull/push required. It looks like these guys didn't have enough of either.

T I M B E R ! ! Note the slope - looks like they cut it from the front, should have cut from the back, then it would have fallen 'down' the slope?!
