Train Looking Truck - Strange Pictures
Strange picture. This looks like a train with a truck connected to the front of it. This must be fake because I have never heard of anything like this before.

in some countries that have hundreds of miles of straight road with little traffic (australia for one) they have what is known as road trains. they take a long time to get rolling and a long time to stop. it's usually illegal and extremely dangerous to get in the way of one.
There called road trains and are very common in the Northern Territory of Australia. They are even common to be seen driving around Darwin city. You are only doing a quater of the job if you only pull 1 trailer.
Backing up is the fun bit??

They are so large they even generate their own weather. :D
in Australia, we also have some really big REAL trains as well, and i believe the record for the worlds largest land vehicle. a real train
In 2001, BHP Billiton set new world railing records
for the longest (7.353km) and the heaviest (99,732.1 tonnes) train.
NOT the NASA CT crawler, that only weighs 2700 tonns. its a baby.. LOL

Actually, this photo is 100% real. There are states/countries that allow this type of trucking. Australia is a country that utilizes this due to some very loong stretches of road from coast to coast. Using this form of cargo transport, it cuts down on driver and fuel costs.

gotta be fake, can you imagine how much of a boom that would be if the truck wrecked?
This is from Australia where they are a common sight traveling between the towns which can be 100's of kilometers apart. It is called a road train and carry everything from fuel to livestock to raw minerals. The longest on record was 1,473m long consisting of 104 trailers in 2006, but normally between 3 and 6 trailers long.
These are probably in Austrailia, they are real. I belive they call them truck trains, but I am not sure. The highways in Austrailia are very long and straight, so they are able to haul at least 4 if not more trailers. Thought you would like to know..
Yes, that is a true truck. But it's from the land down under. They have to run that many becouse of the outback. Where things are so far apart and hundreds of miles apart too. I love them trucks and this is a good picture of one. Oh, and by the way, they call them Road Trains too. (28 Comments) |
