some catfish can get upwards of about 150lbs. but it's a rarity to actually catch them that big. on average, 15- 50 lbs for a fish is a good catch.

Not sure that the average fisherperson goes out rigged well enough to catch a fish like that everyday? They must have had some idea that fish like that were around and had special equipment.

think they are from like taiwan or something, read about it a while back (they aint that special where they comefrom anyhow, and the locals catch em easy enough)

Nice fish....F.Y.I.- there is no record for catfish since they grow according to the size of their environment. (bigger the water bigger the fish) There have been scuba divers in the Ohio river who have reported seeing catfish as big as cars when they were down deep but no pictures or hard evidence of this.

holy shit! i think i heard something about this on the radio. they are not trying to hurt the fish, but they are going to tag it and release it into the wild. that's an endangered species. or they could just take it to a bomb shelter and feed the inhabitants for weeks on end. lol. i hate myself.

In Germany we call this fish "Waller". In some reagions in Italy this fish can be catched with a length of up to three meters (River "PO"). So that shown fish isn't big enough to brake any european record! Chears mpa

Its big but its not the world record holder!

Not even close to the world record. The largest cat fish is the Mekong Catfish of the Mekong river. This catfish can grow on average up to 6ft and weigh in at around 500-600lbs. The fish shown is just a randow occurence that probably will never happen again. Good try though.
