(The real one here). Just to explain my previous comment - witches tended to be vry old women who knew a lot about natural hallucogenetic plants, like magic mushrooms etc. They used them to give themselves the illusion of flight when they ingested them. The broom was smeared with a paste made from these plants (cooked up in a pot/cauldron) and then smeared on a broom. They then 'rode' the broom naked and absorbed the drugs through.. well come on, do I have to 'spell' (haha) it out for you?!
