Plane On Jacks - Cool Pics

This picture is kind of strange. I have never seen a plane on jacks like this before. I guess they must be changing a flat tire or something. :)

No really this is a VTOL Airbus under developement. This picture must have been smuggled out of the factory grounds because for sure it is something that is being developed. I know this for a fact but can't tell you my dad is working on this project.

That type of jacks are used during heavy maintenance when the plane has to stay steady for engine removals etc. Also landing gear is tested on jacks to see that they operate correctly. This picture might be from early hull pressure testing of this airbus model. No airline signs, no engines. APU might be in place at the rear and provide the cabin pressure? If this would be at the scrappers I dont think it would stand so alone as they tend to squeeze the planes as tight together as possible.

Do aircraft tires have flats? I thought they just blew up.

please get someone smarter than you have now to write the descriptions of what we are about to look at. or do some research before you write about it.

Ooops, did anyone also wander how this plane flies without engines? and half of the port wing missing? Probably a scrapper!!

Hello, how else do you test the landing gear to see if it goes up and down properly?? On military aircraft the weapons systems will not fire if the wheels are touching the ground. Therefore jacking them up is the only way to test the weapons firing systems. I realize this is not a military aircraft so this is probably just a landing gear test.
