it is real, omg. you guys (or girls too, mabey) always do this "is it real" thing. yeah, its real. it would be pretty damn hard to fake this.

I wont speculate on this any more than to say, if this is an oil, and i have seen some awesome oils, that whomever painted this is a very talented artist indeed, for the detail is immaculate.

this is a religious painting not a picture i would know because i have a print of it hanging in my living room

Actually Jean Guichard is a famous photographer who took this series of photographs of this lighthouse in France. Everyone has a print of it from Ikea or wherever else. IT is not an oil painting. A little resaerch would have helped guys

When I was young I remember seeing this in Cornwall nr Land's End on the wall of some official building. The guy we were with knew some stuff about the photo and photographer. I don't remember much accept they were desperately trying to get the guy's attention in the photo, to warn him of the danger, and that he did lose his life. I've always thought of it and many years later have only just found it on here through google. Powerful stuff.
