Actually this is in Sri Lanka. still people in the south close to the reef they fish like this. they stay on the pole for the whole day. yes there are ways to get fish easy. this is fresh fish. and they are the people who catch fish for people to buy Safeway. and also there no threat at all killer whales and sharks are no way near them and these seas. you can actually see them fish in the southern part of Sri Lanka and they fish very close to the shore. this is a method use by them for easy bait. if they stay in the water the fish will move away scared of the people and with this method they catch very easily. the depth is like max 10 to 15 feet.

They also like to smoke poles too
