He wouldn't die, jet engines hardly create any suction or torque when they start up. However if he remained there when they throttled up he would die.

The first step a pilot has to do before starting a plane is called a walk around, this is where the pilot walks around the aircraft looking for visible damage or in this case a mechanic catching a few z's inside the nacelle. The only thing that would happen is the mechanic would owe the pilot a couple of beers for not reporting the fact that he could not fly due to a large foreign object, that seems to growl when poked or prodded, inside the starboard engine. Grow up, because someone has to stand fire bottle and you have to have someone on the ground on long cord before turning engines. Its a nice cool spot to take a break. Wussy.

Looks like a crew chief taking a snooze in the inlet of a KC-135R tanker.

just to save the next visitor from the stress of worrying about the safety of this aircrew fella, the process of starting an aircraft engine is kicked off by sounds that require hearing protection.. and engine checks are performed with someone monitoring the engines. there is no chance of harm to this individual unless they roll the wrong way in their sleep
