I am married live in Granada Hills California and I am close to the Hollywood world and seen the abuse these actors go through who only want to entertain us. I think it's 50 /50. The cameraman showed how juvenile he was squirting water in front of a crowd of fans, in front of TV camera's too! Tom could have a temper tantrum like other stars, but talked his way out of it repremanding the guy, also on film in front of a load of fans. What could have happened if it was acid? Tom is right, this is not funny and a cheap copy of what a red-haired british guy did a couple of years ago (rude interviewing at the catwalk etc..). The latter was funny and that guy tried Jean Claude Vandamme etc.., so bit more brave then squirting water to Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise handled this very well.

I think that the interviewer did a stupid thing but it wasn't that stupid enough to go to jail over. Seems to me some people really can't take a joke. I mean it wasn't that serious.

I thought Tom handled himself very well. He kept his composure in a very suprising and shocking moment that most people would have had a knee-jerk reaction of attacking back. He very calmly asked (several times) "why would you do something like that". The only "mean" thing he did or said was to call the guy a jerk and he even did that calmly. He won't press charges, but I hope by being momentarily arrested the squirter will think twice about doing something like this again, and by there being some kind of record that he did this, if it happens again it will show that he has total disreguard for people and something more serious should be done to him (the squirter).

I think what the interviewer did was very rude. He was obviously joking but I think it embarassed Tom because it was so unexpected. Tom was within his rights to be so angry and I think he handled it like a rational adult. Most people--rich or not--would have really let that man have it. I think Tom's reaction was appropriate. Do I think they should be jailed for assault? No. That would be petty. However, I do think both the man and the station should publicly apologize to Tom.
